Thursday - a beautiful, sunshine, blue sky day. Great skiing.

Snow was crispy cold, hard groomed.  Severe clear, blue sky.  There was one time while I was sitting on the Rex chair when I got warm and unzipped my coat.  No wind.  Picked up a breeze on top from the NW.. so the other side of the ridge.

Iceberg - pretty smooth going.  Lower Bull run - smooth and fast.  Even CMAC was groomed smoothly.

I didn't think visibility could even be an issue on such a sunny day.... but I could see clouds forming down in the valley below.... about 2:30 the cloud was about the 6,000 ft level.  So I found myself skiing into fog.  I have noticed this kind of thing before on a Mt. Rainier clear winter day, where the fog rolls in about 2:30 pm.  I think that when the sun starts falling below  the mountain horizon, that the air temp instantly drops about ten degrees and creates fog.

I just love skiing when I can see... it was a great day for cruising.   The beer at the snorting elk was good too.

It was a great cruising day.  Jill and I met some friends and ripped the corduroy until 1:30.  We missed the fog. :)
