I bet yesterday was the best ski day of the year so far and hopefully a preview of 2008.

Crystal was packed. RV's descended (or rather ascended) by the hundreds to the parking lot and caused major traffic jams. Eventually all the lots filled and people were turned away.

Despite the huge lines, chairs were consistently sent up unfilled.

But it was very cold (teens and twenties), beautiful powder, and a blue bird day.

Because the lines were long I climbed the Throne and trekked to Silver Basin.

You can't beat the views on a bluebird day at Crystal. However, they are few and far between.

Lots of times it can be socked in and flat light conditions.

Wish I could have been there with you guys...next time for sure.  Hey, at least we got to set a nice skin track together in Friday's "heavy-as sh**" snow.  Good training I guess.  Scotty, since you're in PDX now, you gotta come up more often.

I was fortunate enough to ski there 12/27-31 every day. What an epic week. It was family time so no hiking or BC skiing, but skied face-shot powder nearly every run every day.

13 year old got the hang of powder on Friday and couldn't keep him out of it for the rest of the trip. I wish I had his stamina!

Oh, yea... lots of fog and low vis... but every once in a while it looks like Utah.
