Big Mountain, Montana is skiing very good right now. Spending the winter season here (instead of living in the Seattle area) we are quickly realizing the sensations when the snow falls light and dry. We haven't been getting the copious amounts of snow the Cascades have been receiving, but it's been falling steady for a couple weeks. The backcountry is thigh, even waist deep in places. Point them and go. The resort on the other hand is holding cold smoke that even many of the locals haven't seen in a while. It's quie enjoyable to say the least. We've been skinning up in the morning to catch first run and then just enjoying some truly perma-grin turns.
