Here at Schweitzer, our traditional post-xmas ski destination.

Very cold temps yesterday-12 degrees at the summit. It started snowing early Thursday and still has not stopped this Friday morning. Cold, squeaky snow that's light as a feather to push around.

The visibility provided for some real challenges but thankfully we are at one of the best tree skiing areas in the country so we were able to handle it.

Here's a photog of my son Christian tearing it up

How about "complimentary"?

Here's something we both left out:
Skiers stranded for a time on Schweitzer's new ski lift

Road & Pass Conditions
Schweitzer Mountain Resort

SANDPOINT, Idaho - A circuit breaker failure at Schweitzer Mountain above Sandpoint stranded more than 100 people on the resort's new chairlift for nearly 90 minutes.

It all happened on Schweitzer's new high-speed four-person lift, the Basin Express. Resort officials say the power outage was short-lived, but that it took longer for the lift's controls to be reset.

Up to 40 skiers were lowered to the ground by ski patrollers before the lift restarted.

Resort officials and Northern Lights Electric utility workers trying to explain the outage say it could have been from downed trees or even increased power usage by the ski area that briefly exceeded the system's capacity.

The 3,700-foot Basin Express is part of a two-lift, $6 miillion expansion.
