Headed to Crystal this morning with Straka. What can I say - raining to the top, Northway, 6 and even Rainier closed.

Had some good skiing in the morning in and around Snorting Elk. Once it started raining in earnest the powder turned to goo. We had some very nice turns on formerly groomed slopes like iceberg that skied almost like they were corned up. Hopefully it cools down tonight and the rain turns to snow.

Ate at the 'new' Summit house (or whatever its called). Very good and reasonably priced relative to food at ski resorts. And the chocolate chip cookies are hot

I'll second the observations on the rain......except in Green Valley. The snow was defnately gooey and really tracked out and some ice moguls too. I was really expecting something more from the forecast......definately not rain at 6K. I was in a location in the GV area where the snow fell all day and lots of untracked snow lie to the tune of 1.5 to 2 feet........steep and open. That is where I remained all day On a day that had the recipe for a soak out and dissapointment, it actually turned out to be quite fun. Groomers were fun too. All in all a good day. Tomorrow could hold some promise if the SL drops like it is forecast.

$13 Summit Cheeseburger, LOL!!Ya, that's reasonable!! Fo sho!

Lessee - you go to Campbell Basin get some pasta, a powerade, and a cookie. Or for the same price you could have Halibut over penne pasta with a light pesto cream sauce, served with warm bread up at the Summit.

Yah, I think that is reasonable.

Expensive yes but its a ski resort. When I want to eat cheap I bring my Ramen but if gotta pay (cuz I slept that extra 30 minutes) then I think that the Summit (again - whatever it is called) is a better value.

I saw the aforementioned cheesburger and well, it looked pretty damn good
