Did some business in Bend this week. Took an afternoon to hit the lift served stuff.
Fears of bullet proof with a dusting were surprisingly dismissed to enjoy a carve-able base layer and an inch of silky powder on the firm, but carve-able base.
Not much in the way of a base both my skis and slopeside. Lots of rocks and small trees, I would say a foot or two for a base. Roulette skiing trough the trees off Pine Martin lift getting at least 6 runs an hour.
They are charging the full price for only 4 lifts open $56 full day $50 1/2 day.
The Outback, Northwest and Summit chairs are not in operation due to lack of coverage.
The terrain to Outback was supposedly closed, somehow I found myself in the fog, drifting into this area only to pop out of the woods to find closed signs ??? not sure how I crossed the lines, (no ropes), but the skiing was smooth, and turnable hitting the narrow gaps in sparsely covered small trees. I do not know this area very well and was lucky to score on some great skiing on a real marginally, marginal day.

Nice work getting out. Bachelor is a great place, even when the snow's marginal. If you get a chance to ride it in the spring, check out the backside off the summit and the Northwest lift. They're worth the price of admission.
