May 19 - Stevens was created by Charlie Hagedorn
Academic pursuits demanded a quick day in the hills. Left the Stevens lot at 8:30 with two booting/snowshoe friends and one tele friend. Skinned to just below the 7th heaven lift, then booted to the summit of Cowboy. We descended back to the skis, and enjoyed friendly and wet but consolidated turns to the base. Higher on the mountain, small, but manageable, wet sluffs could be triggered with aggressive plunge stepping.
Fun trip (with good company!), given the less than optimistic looking weather.

It looked just like this :

Our only steps on dirt were from the parking lot to the snow just outside the lodge. Some of the ground near an upper lift was exposed, as were small patches here and there, but there was plenty to ski.
