After Timberline, I drove over to Meadows and enjoyed a few hours of cruising the corn. The US Snowboard team was training on the mountain. I assumed they would have Heather Canyon open BUT it wasn't. :'(
Being on skis was rather lonely seeing the majority were snowboarding. Meadows plans to close on the 13th unless they have enough paid attendees to warrant further weekend openings. Lift tickets were only $20 if you had a season pass from another area. If you ventured off the groomers, the snow was covered with volcanic grit.
Keith, sorry I didn't get your email and cell number until I returned home.

It was definitely worth the $20 lift ticket. Bluebird conditions, great setting, and it was skiing. I picked the right day to forget to pack ski pants.
I didn't find much corn but lots of slush. Very sticky snow laced with dirt and mud which was especially grabby. The steepest runs seemed to work the best.
Kept my peepers open for Zap but didn't see him.
Will head up today for a few hours before heading back to puyallup.
A couple of pics. On the Cascade Express .
