It was lift served, but I began month 30 of my TAY streak yesterday at Vail. 6-8" of new snow (on top of 2 feet in the past week) provided some powder turns in the morning, and bizarre weather conditions (lightning strikes closed the back bowls for several hours and at one point there was nearly a complete white-out even near the trees) made frequent clothing changes helpful. It went from driving snow to hot sunshine in just minutes in the early afternoon. Skiing with my son, who has been abroad all year, enhanced things immeasurably. All in all, a great day of spring skiing, whetting the appetite for spring BC turns!
