Tuesday - I just checked the temp stats... temps went from above freezing for the last couple of days down to the teens and the twenties on Tuesday. I can't overstate how frozen up things were. A couple of the groomers were good; Queens, Downhill, Rolling Knolls, and Luckyshot. These runs were nicely groomed. There was enough skiing activity to soften them up just a little.
Even Magoo was hard to ski... too rough and the frozen snow was unforgiving. We took a chance on Ferksberg hoping the sun would soften it up... we guessed wrong - I just tried to get down alive. There was no mercy on the wrong slopes.
Looking at Bull Run from below... big bare spots are opening up. We did enough runs on Luckyshot to get our workout. Every time I did Luckyshot, I intentionally hit a death cookie at the top to see if it would move... if things were softening... That death cookie would not budge... just knocked my ski aside. So, it was pretty consistant higher up.
In the morning there was slick ice on the parking lot. By the end of the day the parking lot was dry.
Snow should be pretty good for couple of days, especially if it softens. But I sure would like a big powder dump... dream on.

Thanks Larry for taking one for the team to give us your update. You managed the beast and told us about it.
Your unbias report and forcasting is awesome, you get credit in my book!
Way to put on the gloves and skate around the rink with Gordie Howe.

With the weekday season pass, I don't mind checking things out. I think I got my money's worth this year. Crystal is so consistantly inconsistant... need to keep an eye on it.
I wonder if my crampons would fit on my ski boots? I happened to have picked up some naxo crampons on the way down at Wapiti Woolies.... maybe that was a subconscious move. Stopped for the huckleberry ice cream and ended up with ski crampons. The owner put out his big fat rossi pow skis for sale - $400. I look at big fat skis like other guys look at girls... with a little lust.
