Our forecast sources are calling for high winds with lots of rain Sat night and all day Sunday. Therefore, the ski area will be CLOSED on Sunday, March 11. The storm will pass Sunday night with freezing levels beginning to drop Monday morning. We will resume normal operations on Monday, March 12th.

Mt Baker will be closed as well:
All of our forecast sources are calling for the ski area to be slammed with high winds and high freezing levels (8000 feet) and lots of precip (5 inches of rain!) Saturday night and all day Sunday. Therefore, the ski area will be CLOSED all day on Sunday, March 11. The storm will pass on Sunday night with freezing levels dropping down to 3000 feet and lower on Monday. We will resume normal midweek operations Monday morning, March 12.
This is a rather unusual storm for March.

The Crystal closure was the talk of the town as we lunched at Buzzy's in Greenwater Sunday afternoon. The skies were blue and the temps were warm and it would have been a delightful spring skiing day, unlike Saturday which turned wet and blustery by early afternoon.
Rumor had it that Mr. Kircher was not happy about having made the call to close based on a dire forecast that didn't prove accurate. Can't say's I blame him.
