Crystal 2_28_07

There was hardly anyone at Crystal today. It was cold at the base (in the 20's) and the snow was again the incredibly light airy stuff that was there last week with 6 inches to a foot of powder. Unfortunately it was not enough to cover the bumps and chopped crud. However, the snow crud was light enough to work with.

The day started with light snow falling but relatively good visibility. After an hour it was pretty foggy and flat up top and it got worse as the morning progressed. By noon there was a full scale blizzard with massive snowfall that lasted about an hour.

Then around 1:30 it started to clear somewhat. The snow became slightly wetter but still fabulous.

You're so right !! Gonzoliscious day. Hike up from bottom of B (no shuttle, Johns being frugal ), T2B Gv_Left Berg_Snake Pits_Lower Bull tooo sweet with fresh boot top. Quick spin on 9 to Dead Cat and delicious fresh on 4 without the hike. Then off to Northway Bowl, Penny Dogs and lower Northway. Quick boot to the Blvd and Karma Kicked in..scored a ride a new Land Rover !!! Day just kept getting better and better. Still sore from 5 days last week. Don't forget Vertfest this weekend. Can't wait to see who backs their talk with serious uphill and fall line walks.

13 inches overnight and single digit temps for thursday!
