Alpental was very good -- still soft and a couple inches of new light new snow. And very uncrowded. The groomed areas near the bottom lasted till about noon, and they were colorado like. The areas that were groomed before the two inches of light fresh were fun too -- pretty much what I imagine the Yellowstone club must be like. Only lapped the near back a few time, but that was softer than most inbounds areas. There are some more report at the end of the Alpy on the 21st thread.
Went over to Hyak after 6 top to bottom runs at Alp to give me dog a little play time. We (well I) opted for the verts over the split board and meandered up under the lift to the top of the dinosaur. Snow was not quite as good over there, but still very good. Lot and lots of tracks already, should be pretty much tracked out by Saturday barring new snow.
As I meandered up the hill I trompled one of the better skin tracks for maybe 75 vertical feet. Should I feel bad? I do my share of skinning, but I'm not sure if I should worry about this infraction at tracked out inbounds Hyak. But if I killed your buzz today sorry about that.
On the plus side there is a frickin' enormous, perfectly buffed-out quarter pipe built up for the "holy oly" revival this weekend. See if you can get those fish-scales airborne tomorrow!
