Partially cloudy skies and temps in the low to mid thirties today...

Hit shot 10 parking lot at 12:30, on snow and skiing by 1:00. Snow on the bottom of the mountain was soft and Spring like. I love Spring skiing, I'm just not ready for it now.

Top of the mountain is was firm however Nash was better then we expected it to be. There was an inch of new snow on top of hard pack. The lower entrance was in very good shape due to patrol efforts.

Lower BC gate was open out to Knoll 1. Interestingly, only knoll 1 was marked as open. We had heard that ski patrol had been working on the cornices above the traverses and it was evident. There is a lot of debris from just past the upper traverse entrance all the way out past knoll 2. Skiing out of Knoll 1 was tricky... At top Snow was grabby and hadn't softened enough so getting the skis to turn was a chore. A couple of degrees more and it would have been perfect. Snow got better the lower we went. Lower down the the snow in the trees is starting to get grabby due to the pollen that starts to collect with the snow melts out.

After the first run out to the BC we came back to the lot, tossed our packs in the truck and cycled Armstrong making runs on the lower mountain. Very few people on the hill, it felt like we had the place to ourselves.
