Whistler/Blackcomb Jan 27- 28 2007

Just came back from Blackcomb... The snow was hard in most places. 7th Heaven was the worst. We kept to the groomers on that side, but never more than a run or two. The Glacier was ok and the weather was fantastic. Definately a day for the terrain park.

I was also at Whistler on January 27th. The condition of the snow was the poorest that I've experienced there in a long time. The groomers were coarse dust-on-crust and the off-piste was semi-frozen crude. Even in the southern exposed areas ,ruts made turning an adventure. By far the best snow of the day was at the top of the Sun Bowl. Lower Flute was covered with cruddy, breakable crust snow; the telemarker's worse enemy. But it was a beautiful day, as these photos should attest to.
