Ok, two weekends in a row now we have headed up for a sunrise pic of Rainier and some fresh tracks on new snow, but while we are still skinning up, others were coming down by 8:30AM. A significant number of people. What's up with this? WHO are they? What's their connection? I keep hearing mention of 'the owners.' True? But really, how many 'owners' are there?
My guess would be that there are breakfast events at the Summit House. I am not surprised at anything that happens at Crystal. Lots of stuff going on there. Did you get your pictures?

Can anyone here honestly say that if they owned or were substantially repsonsible for the operation of a major ski area that they wouldn't grab first tracks once in a while?
Once in a while...how about every freakin powder day! That is why ya'll should be glad I don't own it.
Grumble grumble, I'm guilty too but instead of reacting get proactive. Start early and beat them too it. Believe me the look on their faces is well worth it. And then when your done with your ride before the owners/patrollers outside even have a chance to speak, I say yo don't say nothing I guess I'm just a freak...cause were the freaks of the industry...

I plan on putting in a skin track next powder day just to speak with the man.
Beware of the wrath of a powderhound scorned.
