Yesterday was a kind of hybrid day; we used the lifts to access the backcountry. Mikil, Ki and I used Chair 8 to play in the usually Out of Ski Area below the Hemispheres. The snow was so bomber that the ski patrol wasn't even interested that we were carrying all of the avi essential in our packs. We found great untouched powder; the only complaint was that photography was difficult in the shade. This area is new to me and I wouldn't have gone there without an experienced partner. Still, we chose our own descend routes and I fortunately found ways between the rock bands back to Gabi's Run.

Most of the day was spent on the slopes just west of the backcountry gate near Austin Pass. We took advantage of Chair 1 to get to height of land and then continuously found virgin snow runs as bc travellers trudged past on their way to Artist Point or beyond. The ski hill itself was not busy. This was surprising as it was a beautiful day following record volumes of new snow. Maybe, the sea-level people are tired of snow already.

I lack the support group that Scotsman enjoys and screwed up my first attempt at photos for my report.
