4/29/06 - Saturday AM at Alpental. Snow cover is still over 99%. Just one spot of brush showing on lower Deb's face. Back in the trees, snow has a scatter of needles and twigs. The one remaining grooms-man had been working non-stop since Thursday morning and it showed. Nice work on the soft corn. Low crowd count though, The weather reporters had been hyping rain for the day, but it was just scattered clouds until the afternoon so the AM was excellent. Heard elsewhere that the rain started around 3ish. Folks were theming it, spotted a boarder rocking a suit & tie, and a possee in Hawian shirts and grass skirt. Spent most of the morning down low, then finished off with a chair 2/Nash run. TomK & Kerry.

4/30/06 - A bluebird sunny Sunday at White Pass. There was 1-2 inches of new over a sunbaked and frozen underlayer, making for an interesting first hour. Only the HSQ and a platter pull lifts were rolling for this, their last day. We scored some first-tracks down Ptarmigen & Paradise in the new, but the Main Street cat track back to base was really icy so most of the rest of the runs were on Cascade/Holicade/What?/Holiday/etc on the eastside. There was a long time window where the snow was just right, and around 1:30 in the afternoon it finally got so sloppy/sucky that we called it quits. Chad took up his snowshoes with a new "clicker" snowboard boot binding plate that we worked up and walked counterclockwise around the whole ski area boundry. TomK & Kerry on skis, and Karrie the snowboarder hitting it from 9 to 2.
