April 28/06, Whistler Mountain

Tom L. and I had a great day of tele skiing on Whistler Mountain last Friday. There is still lots of good snow; we even finished the day by skiing down to about 150' above the village. Harmony Bowl was closed, but that was understandable considering the sparse crowd. No line ups; you got to love that.

We followed the sun from east to west and never had to ski bad ice or terrible slush. The moguls in the steep bowls were accommodating to tele turns and the West Bowl had a great 400'+ fall line free of moguls.The forecasted showers did not materialize until after 4:00. Unfortunately, they lingered strongly into Saturday afternoon; we wisely chose to not ski. I will be able to ski the balance of the season at $29.00 CAN a day with my Edge Card, so I will be returning.
