Thursday at Crystal:  Surprise - it was cold!  Base was crisp in the morning, a little mushy in the afternoon. Groomers were nicely courderoy groomed in the morning. Snow was not only crisp, but bordering on icey.  Got a surprise on lower CMAC - not groomed and with frozen chicken heads - this softened up after lunch.

Upper mountain was varied. Green Valley Bowl and Iceberg had nice layers of sugar snow, but down inside the bowl, it was frozen.  Did see skiers doing Powder Bowl.  On the way down Luckyshot, we could detect a definite line, at about the first ledge, where the snow softened.  Lower Bull Run had so much loose corn snow on it, I could almost start a slide.  Racing Courses were set up all over.  Downhill was netted on the sides with a nice racing groom in the morning.  Great day of skiing for carvers.

Fridays conditions were just like you described Thursdays's with the exception of wind at the top of the ridges due to the next weather system working it's way in. The downhill as in full swing so a stop to watch was in order. Oh to be young and brave again!

Overall a warm, sunny at times and not a lot of people. A good day.
