On Super Bowl Sunday, I headed south in the sun for our CA ski season. It felt strange to leave Seattle on the first sunny day in weeks. I've toured numerous days on Mt. Shasta but never rode the lifts at the ski area on the south flanks. Bought a $25 midweek ticket and cycled the 3 triple chairs for a few hours in sunshine and spring snow. The surrounding terrain looked interesting for a powder day with plenty of trees plus easy access to numerous touring routes. Next stop, Tahoe and spring skiing in the sun.<br><br>Zap
