After a pleasant morning in backcountry powder, I crossed the street for lunch at Stevens Pass lodge, drying gear, and watching the customer servants handle inane questions while I waited for night skiing to begin at 2:50PM. Armed with my first frontcountry ticket this season ($16+1.34 tax thanks to Whistler Edge card), I lapped Big Chief lift getting fresh powder tracks in the trees until dark, then worked my quads under the lights until I achieved $1 per thousand feet price levels.

Back to the lodge to dry off, relieve the bladder, and get ready to head home, I learned that traffic was at a standstill. So chatted with folks for an hour and drove home 750PM-1030PM.

Anyone else with the Edge card want to adjust their work load to grab some powder on the proper occasion at Stevens, leave Seattle after lunch, ski night until a little after dark?

Congratulations on riding a lift again. I was hoping rolling over 100 months would expand your skiing environment. Now just buy Shell gas and get the "2 for 1" coupons and we can start traveling to other venues. One other item, you will have to be less responsible at work and ski with us midweek. :)

Zap
I had a great "day" at Stevens on Monday. We were almost first up to Double Diamond and we had fresh tracks all day long. It snowed nine inches from 8:00 am-4:00 pm!
Unfortunately we were stuck on the pass for two hours due to a fallen tree and fatality accident on US2 and it took us over four hours to get home to Seattle. However, the snow was so good I would do it again in a heartbeat.
