A good day skiing with friends. Very few people on the slopes. Arrived about 9:20 am, the upper lot was only half full. Corduroy grooming. Seems like for the last year I have had to dodge rocks on the slopes and it's getting tiring. I ptex, ptex, ptex. But the skiing is good. The exception was two weeks ago when we had a powder day, which was great, no rocks.

Of course some steep slopes are now scraped off. So be prepared to handle ice. Didn't bother with Iceberg because of rocks last week. So, we mainly stayed on the groomers and played til closing.

We sure would like some fresh snow!

Thanks for the report. It is gettiing thin. Went last week and dinged a few rocks, so had to lay off this week. Weather report says precip coming in Wed and Thurs. 8)

Went to REI - Tacoma and they were all out of black ptex. So, I guess I am not the only one who chooses to ski on this stuff.

What I find irritating is that I think it is the grooming machines that kick up most of the rocks. And my God, can't someone just go through and toss the big ones?

I tried tossing rocks last year and some of those big ones were pretty hard... I would toss one and then ski over to it and toss it again.

Last Thursday, we had a lot of fun. The slopes were nicely groomed. Sliding down Green Valley Bowl, West Face, Cmac and the Burn was nice and smooth.

Thankfully, the rocks at the bottom of the Burn were large enough that we could easily see them in time to make turns.
