Not as much snow yet in Whistler as down here. About 2 feet of fairly heavy pow over not much else for a base at 3500 feet elevation. Not much open yet, but not to be yawned at either. Don't go up until they get two more feet.<br><br>Fun to make a lot of turns though, until hitting a snag at high speed and ramming my shoulder into another one. It separated with an audible crunch, but not as bad as it could have been -- almost didn't wear my helmet. So a few weeks off then some mellow pow on the splitboard for a few more.<br><br>Oh well -- if it had to happen on the first weekend of the season at least it is just after Halloween and not right before Christmas.<br><br>As I walked off the hill I watched some locals poaching some gnarly lines around couloir extreme -- looked super fun but still pretty boney.<br><br>
