March 23, 2005, Mt. Rose,NV

We arrived late on the 22nd in Reno and the snow report from Mt. Rose was superb - 18 to 24" in the last 24 hours and 40 to 52" in the storm cycle that started Sat. The morning report was only 4 to 6" new and a bit of wind. We were in the frst wave on the Zephyr chair at 8:30 and the wind was gusting in the 30's. As we ascended the winds were stronger and all the fresh powder from the storm cycle was down near Reno. The wind was howling all morning and when the Chutes opened it was wind affected. Should have been here yesterday. We'll just reload and go to plan "B" tomorrow. Zap
