Woke up to 5" of new overnight and blizzard conditions. Rode the shuttle from our overnight spot with the employees to the main lodge. The winds were gusty during most of the day and snow was falling heavily. All the tracks from yesterday were covered and we skied the trees till our old quads screamed out for a break. Brighton seems to be a local mountain because of the inepensive($41) lift tickets and free skiing for kids. Justin just called and he left Seattle last night and will be pulling next to us this evening. Sounds like he has the fever. The storm cycle is forecasted to last til Thursday. Another 6-9" overnight is in the forecast. Solitude just surpassed 500" this season and we'll probably spend Sunday testing the quality of the powder.
Zap

Dang, Zap you're killing me. We got the goods there around New Years, highlighted by two deeps days at Solitude. Some advice if you haven't been there before - start on Powderhorn, then move over to Summit after a few runs. Then ski into Honeycomb when the patrol eventually opens it. This keeps you one step ahead of the masses and got us untracked lines until 1-2 pm during the busy holiday. Enjoy the face shots!

Sounds like Matt knows where the goods are over there, Zap. Have a great time and come back and see us when we have snow (and write if you find work ;) ).

Skied/hiked to Patsy Marley peak that viewed Alta Ski area and the clouds started to lower and we skied to the lower hill called Figure 8 hill. Knee deep cold smoke!!
Sorry to have missed you.
Joe
