Enjoyed a few green circle groomed turns at the nordic center about four miles past the lift area at stevens. Thought I'd help the guys out with a little commerce from the big city. Took the baby in the pack and the Mama on her first X-country experience. Both seemed to enjoy it fully. Only a few trails open, but certainly enough terrain to get your skate on, or as I did, introduce somebody new to pleasures of earned turns (barely) or at least zooming down the tracks. A few bare patches to cross (a moment of silence for the starving glaciers) so don't bring your best bases. Overall a most enjoyable family outting with some yummy chili in the hut to warm us up for the drive home.
