Had an opportunity to ski Big Sky Montana on Sunday. The snow report said something like 26 inches mid-mountain, 32 inches at the top, but this was generally not the case. Snow was 6 to 12 inches of low moister content powder over a 6 to 12 inch base, over rock. My skis got thrashed! I learned the best areas and stuck to them, and had a great time despite the coverage.

Big Sky is very scenic and the top of the mountain looks awesome (it's steep and huge!), so I'll definitely return later in the season.
