Nice photos Cass! I don't recall running into a tele-ninja on the trip, but you never know.
What do you mean you didn't bring skis??????Kam/Cass, why did you bring skis?? I personaly did not understand why you lugged in your ladies all that way, with the mileage, brush, down trees, wat...
What a great way to spend a sunday!!!Joe, thanks for the pie, it surely hit the spot.~Joshua (aka Ned)
My previous comment wasn't intended to bash anyone, sorry if it did. It was just good old forum satire. It actually had more to do with the total number of people on the route that day and maybe the...
Troll and Jen,It was nice meeting you both and thanks for the use of your shovel, although I don't recall if I ever used it or not. And there is nothing like "stadium seating" to take...
Ditto on the sweet pic!It was my first time on the mountain and the SW Chutes are definitely the way to go. Although it is funny how 19/20 circus animals opt to descend down the south spur.It was als...
Those are some sweet "Homemade Turns"
Nice report and photos Kam. It was great to finally get out with you. We'll have to do it again soon.Ditto. I think Kam enjoys being the little boy among the mountain men.
Casshole, thanks for the idea, I had a blast. Although, I had my doubs while we were booting up the steep muddy dirt.Joshua
skiphotomatt and I were also doing the bday tour on saturday. We left the trailhead around 8am, only to find out that the snow didn't really freeze enough overnight for our plans, so we only did...
The earliest of our group met PhotoMatt's band of orbiters on Monday night, reporting that they looked somewhat tired upon arrival in the parking lot around 9:30 or 10:00 pm.Nice job, I sorta remember...
Nice TR Matt. It was an amazing trip, one that I was glad to be a part of, even though the one day push seemed to go on forever and ever and there were many nerve racking moments. This tri...
This area of the Cascades is unlike any other. Glaciers reach to high cols and interconnect, separated by craggy, beautiful spires. Far below, they tumble chaotically into lakes and deep valleys but...
Yeah, the White Chuck Glacier - Suiattle Glacier - Honeycomb Glacier Traverse has been on my list for a long time. Nice job.
I remember the fourth of july's at jones beach.j
I love "Rain Flakes"
Hey markharf, The NWAC mentioned turns-all-year in their monday detailed avalanche forcast because of your post about the remaining powder in the baker backcountry. way to go.
Well explained ski_photomatt
Yes, you are correct. We only did the north aspect, because we didn't want to lay down another skin track. The south side looked just as great from the saddle.joshua
Hey Charles, Thanks for writing the TR. As the lone AT skier, I had a blast and was the best skiing I had in this "early season" and I am looking forward to the pictures from the trip....
Did I forget to mention how windy and snowy it was up there.
Hi Scott, did you by chance see a pair of scott ski goggles somewhere on the trail or in the trees. I lost my pair there a month ago and was hoping it wasnt buried under the snow.Thanksjosh
That is funny. I had friends with a very similar experience at the blue lake trailhead.
