Oh yes! I teach a study abroad class to Japan every year and I've been wanting to ski Fuji-san. Thanks for the report, unfortunately I go there in September usually so the amount of snow is...
Thanks a bunch Kamtron, it was apparently out earlier!
Hey Charles, its good to see something from you. This year has been incredibly bad.If you're ever interested in doing some three pin touring let me know, I have gotten back into skiing again and...
We had a great ski through the woods, up high below the false summit was icy and windblown though. We were a bit west of the other two groups, and the skiing in the trees and glades was fun.It was gre...
Thanks for posting this. The Olympics are such a fabulous range.
Great trip and pictures! This is one of my very favorite skis in the spring. The fall seems a bit too much booting around for my taste, but then again, the spot is awesome.EDIT: Here's a shot fro...

No problem adding the photos. In fact, they match exactly the view the next day, Sunday. It was a beautiful day!

We actually hit skinnable snow at ca. 4800ft. The trip was great fun up in an alpine environment, even if the snow up high was horrifying. The snow in the trees along the ridge was fluffy...
It was nice meeting all of you. And what a great day, the skiing was good too! The run down from Golden Gate was magnificently smooth corn. Lovely.Matt
Vince and I descended from the crater, ca. 9550 ft, down the Squak on Saturday: I assume that was you on your way up. I was on Rando and Vince was on Tele. What a fabulous day. . .amazing....
What a great snow day, even if the weather wasn't great! Some of the best turns I've ever had on my touring skis. Charles knows the area well and guided us around in a whiteout with flawle...
Neat trip. How did you get Matt away from the lab? Might I suggest skibiking (see recent Spray Park/Flett Glacier gallery) on the gated roads; it makes the journeys on the road much faste...
Well, it was about 2 miles by bike, and 15 miles 4800 vf by ski. Fabulous tour: magnificent scenery, wonderful snow, perfect weather, and no crowds.
Really though, it was the magical properties associated with the new piece of gear that made the trip. How else can we explain that many thousands of vertical feet of exquisite corn snow? ...
It must be noted that Charles has a real knack for finding the perfect terrain for waxless skiing. Most people would have plodded along on skins but we were always able to find the perfect terra...
