Hi Lisa: I enjoyed meeting you and Jake that day. It was about a 1000 vertical foot drop into Cowlitz.
For what its worth, the Palmer snow field was 163 feet thick at its deepest point, in the summer of 1981. It would be interesting to remeasure its depth today.
Returned to Paradise glacier 7-16-09. Entrance off Anvil, is thin (picture). Snow above rock outcrop is pretty choppy, but quite nice below. Lots of goats on hike out. The ski in Edith Creek basin is...
