Just got back from there as well. We saw you skiing down as we were climbing up. The backside had better overall snow, when you average the nice-ish top 100' feet with the terrible bottom 500...
They were. My mom hasn't been the same since.
This is what the day looked like....
How long did this tour take, car to car?
Yes indeed, that was us. And I'm glad we talked to you. I'm not sure we would have motivated to go had it not been for your positive report. Also, I'm glad you posted that picture. I wa...
My wife and i are heading out to Winthrop for T'giving and after reading your report, a little tour might be in order on the way there or back.... Two quick questions though re the Lake Ann tour:...
If snow did indeed fall after we left, then I stand corrected. With the impending arrival of warm weather, I guess I was secretly pining for a magical 1400' couloir only an hour from Seattle that...
The Slot, I think, is some kind of magical place.... we were there yesterday, probably the 3rd group of the day to descend, and we found beautiful, untracked snow. Today, you too found untracked snow...

We reached Muir at 3:00 and it was so so good all the way down to about 7k, when it wasn't the snow but the visibility that made the rest of the decent difficult. The fact that we were able to sk...
Kam et al. - We ran into you at the very beginning of your descent from the col. Good to meet you all. Despite the discussion about how the snow was probably better on the blue lake side, we opted to...
What route did you take out there? How long did it take out and back?
It softened below 5000 by 12, but a northerly wind kept it bulletproof above. I doubt the top 500 feet ever got soft, though I could be wrong.
Sluff. Nothing too scary but for the location.
Did you notice any avy activity? I relegated myself to riding the lifts at snoqualmie because of NWAC's reported high avy danger. I presume you stuck to the trees... did it seem stable? Did you d...
Hey Marc, Nice pictures. That panorama is awesome. By the way, how long did the trip take?
How far down did the snow start to get bad?
I mainly went around the rocks and brush. Generally, however, I'd say that above the fan, the coverage is as you'd expect mid-winter. Below there, there's lots of twigs and sticks jutting from beneath...
To those who went on this trip, how long was the walk (in minutes and/or in vert) before you finally put on your skins? How long was the skin up afterwards?
