I went to Crystal today (Friday 2/13) thinking that there wouldn't be much left of the 7 inches that fell Tuesday night. I was right in that it was mostly skied out inbounds and in the easily accessible back(side)country but I went out in the Southback, beyond the traverse line and found 7" to a foot of dry light snow. From 3-Way peak east, all the bowls above Henskin lakes to Bear Gap (all north or northwest facing) were virtually untracked, I made 3 runs thru the bowls and the trees up there on uncut snow and didn't see another person. The cloud layer was 6100 to 6200 feet and visibility above that was pretty bad. Windy on the ridge line but below that, the skiing in the trees was excellent.
Slopes were very stable, I dug a couple of pits. Definite crust 7 to 12 inches down but well bonded. I couldn't get any movement. I only saw one sluff on a steep 60+ degree slope. Lightly snowing all day and cold. Should be good for the weekend if the weather holds
