Over the years I've enjoyed some interesting (and occasionally good) October skiing in places that aren't easily accessible later in the winter: Heliotrope Ridge,  Banshee Pk (above Summerland near the Cowlitz Chimn. - highly recommended if you can time conditions right), the Interglacier, etc.

With zero precip in the forecast, I decided to hit up my reliable snowpatch under Chair Pk above the Thumbtack. It was actually in better shape than I was expecting and I enjoyed a few laps on the slushy/dirty snow.

Fingers crossed for some snow!!

Banshee Peak? That is one long hike to get your Oct. turns. What aspect do you ski? Do you get onto the Sarvant Glacier?
