We had planned to eat some breakfast at the Copper Creek Inn but were sad to see that they have moved to a winter schedule - We ate at the Longmire Inn while we waited for the gate instead. The gate at Longmire opened a few minutes before 10am this morning.
There was a temperature inversion this morning the air temp at Narada (34 degrees and the breeze felt balmy)was 3 degrees warmer than the lot down at Longmire.
The new snow was heavy and we took our time trudging along the road and up to the ridge climbers left of the Castle.
Encountered some windslab in the upper bowl and saw some natural releases on the NE aspects that had been bombed by trees and the cliffs of the Castle and Pinnacle. Otherwise the new snow seemed well bonded and stable.
We made it out right at dark and had a piece of blackberry pie and some dinner at the Copper.

Joe on the road to Reflection

That's the wrong Joe!

Should have been me!

Mmmm, I love the blackberry pie from Copper Creek Inn!  The lemon pepper chicken is quite the meal, as well.

Oh that was the right Joe alright.
