Table Mtn Circumnav
We had a nice tour around Table Mountain on Friday. The weather was mostly blue bird, with some clouds - just enough to keep the snow from melting out too quick. Started from the Bagley Lakes trailhead, made our way more or less along the road and headed up to artist point. From there some minor route finding was needed to find a good gap through the trees and then a simple clockwise circumnavigation of Table Mountain. Both Iceberg and Bagley Lake were frozen over making for easy and direct skinning, with a fun ski down from the Herman saddle avoiding a couple of cracks over rocks that were big enough to swallow a skiier.
On the way out, the locals were shredding the Blueberry Chutes, and we saw Shuksan unload a fairly large avalanche down a gully below the summit block. Only other avalanche activity noted was across the road on the drive up - complete release from the rocks up, but was cross able, and a good reminder that with these warm temps, any snowpack on rock is liable to release completely if the angles are right.
