Summit West
No Sharks were encountered. Brush sticking up, dips and creeks needed to be navigated around. Variable, wind affected snow -- but still some fun, especially between 3800 and 3400 ft -- below 3400 ft the snow because noticably heavier and stiffer with each turn.
Several hundred other skiers, splitboarders, snowboarders on snowshoes or postholing and people sledding observed. Some moguls developing in the center area of the Pacific Crest run.
I did two laps. I parked on the side of HWY-906 @ 8:58 near the Chevron -- unplowed North Summit West was already jammed with vehicles attempting and succeding in getting stuck.
Sounds a bit better than Hyak. Back side was good for 1/2 the run then some kind of styrofoam dense snow. Front side needs some snow. Those with better skills than me were sitting back to keep the tips up. Beats raking leaves.
