I don't think I've ever seen a TR for this tour so here you go. Mark and I had set out to do this the week before but bailed to Avalanche due to high winds and second thoughts about our choice to approach from Alpental. I think the approach from Commonwealth is the better way. Gorgeous views and great turns. What more can you ask for?

Very cool - to what elevation did you have to drop on the north side before cutting west to climb out of the Thunder Creek drainage? It's a bit hard to make out from your map.
We turned the corner right around 3k where the angle eases up. This involved some scrappy tree skiing. Might be better to drop a little further.
