Sholes Glacier

I recently started a job that affords me too much time in front of the computer, resulting in my reading of an unhealthy amount of trip reports. With numerous good summer reports on the Sholes, I decided to ski it on Friday.

Skied from the summit of The Portals East Peak and then booted up to the Portals and skied the main line down from there. I wish I dropped onto the glacier earlier, as it seemed an unnecessary risk to navigate the cliff bands down. Thankfully I ran into another skier, Pat, who just hiked up the skiers right gully and informed me that it connected. First experience skiing suncups was a burden on the legs.
