Put on skins at about 6,200' in Spray Park about a mile above the trail. The notch across the Flett meant 100' of walking on scree and then another walk across the bench to get on the Russell. The Russell is really melting out. It was beautiful even if the skiing wasn't great. We booted up the headwall of the upper glacier due to crevasses, ice and melting on the upper left and central. Looking over into the Mowich? Apocaliptic! Seemed to have lost a lot of ice with our heat wave.
