Rampart Ridge via Lake Lillian Backdoor
Rampart Ridge still has more than enough snow to go around. Road is fully clear to the Lake Lillian backdoor trailhead, and snow starts at the lake itself, which is frozen over. The north-facing slopes have 3-4 feet of soft spring snow, which isn't even suncupped yet. Skiied about 500ft down from the top of Rampart Ridge, skinned back to the trail, and had a steep and narrow straight shot down into Lake Lillian via the summer trail. If I were feeling more ambitious there's plentiful lines down into the Rampart lakes and north down in the direction of Box Canyon Creek and Kachess

looking south to Rainier from Rampart Ridge

west over Gold Creek Pond to Hyak and Central- notice how snowy Silver still is

Lillian still frozen- but not enough that I considered skinning across it!
