Pilchuck Spring Rt. Out

Road still closed, so rode my e-bike. When I started up the melted out trail I figured I should just continue up it, but since the upper mountain looked like it had plenty of snow I decided to make my way up the spring route to check it out. Not worth it - I could only skin about a third. Booting steep areas in the shade I could have used crampons. Lots of deep holes you wouldn't want to fall into by the creek. Gave up at the shoulder when I decided not to ski the Gunsight solo and wanted to save energy for the difficult descent. Ended up booting down a lot of the lower descent when the crust was breaking and sunny areas were manky mush. Glad to hit the road without a mishap.
