We skied Diamond Peak on Monday, April 14 and Sunday, April 20 - Happy Easter. Both times we could only drive to the intersection at 2149/2160.  Deep pile of snow around the corner.

On Monday (April 14), we could skin to almost the TH, then walked about 35 minutes before skinning again - about 5000'. Ski cramponed the entire ridge to the false-summit. We skied down the main SW Bowl around 12:30p.  Excellent conditions and non-sticky snow into the burn where we transitioned to hiking back out.

Sunday (April 20),  we walked from the vehicle.  Skins on about 5200'. The burn has really changed this area.  Easy navigation to the ridge in the burn. We eventually transitioned to boot crampons due to the wind, cold and firm conditions.   We skied down the south facing shot (1k')  toward Marie lake because the bowl was definitely not ready to ski.  The south facing shot was very nice.  Climbed back up and skied down the main SW bowl around 1:30ish.  It was quite good.  Slightly firm at the top then softened nicely lower down.

Lots of snow to ski on all aspects but the walk will be getting longer. (Try to stay on the original hiking trail - it's kinda flagged) Suspect you can drive to the TH sometime later this week.  Yesterday we shared the hike up and ski down with a nice group - Oregon Hikers (?).  Some of them their first DP ascent/descent.  Fun group AND they had an awesome dog - Rocky!!
