Jerry, Cosmo, and I headed up towards Washington Pass hoping for good coverage, but with realistic expectations. If nothing else we figured we'd get a few turns in among the larches.
Coverage was pretty thin when we set out but got better as we climbed. We settled on a gully that we lapped a few times with only a couple minor scrapes on the rocks lurking beneath.
It was also a day for wildlife. A bird had a close encounter with the front of the car on the drive up and we got to stare at a buck peeking out of the back of a pickup in front of us on the drive home.
