Quick note to help those planning for tomorrow.
Great start to the snow pack, slow start to the day. Ski_Photomat, JM, and I had our patience tested today, as the Logmire gate didn't open until 1 pm. The crew had plenty of snow to move, however, and it was full on winter up there! Snow was generally light for the Cascades and relative to recent reports form Stevens and Sno-quality Pass. Top several inches were quite sensitive, and sluffs were set off by our group and others in the area (ca. 3-4" deep). Fractures in that top layer propogated several meters, and wind loading was also an issue in places. Pretty nice turns for the start of the winter, but we generally stuck to mellow slopes. Plenty of snow at Paradise!

Thanks for the report Phil,
1pm sounds pretty frustrating.
We're hoping it'll be better tomorrow,
