I managed to convince at least one partner that with low snow level and a convergence effect supposedly part of the last snowfall, that we might actually find some good skiing up near Snoqualmie, at least at higher elevations. And what a good way to avoid contributing further to global warming by not driving more than needed to get a fun ski day in!
Given the reports of relatively light and not terribly deep new snow everywhere, I figured that lower angle turns might be the way to fun, rather than seeking the crust on steeper slopes. Sure enough, despite a little minor dues paid at the lower elevations, we got into nice snow with at least passable coverage above 3800 feet, at least in clearcuts and semi-open forest. Up higher, above 5K, it was all nice except on steeper slopes which still need a few more feet.
After trundling up through foggy forest and clearcut, we got some weather breaks at our high point, and enjoyed some sun on the trip down, along with surprisingly nice turns, until it was time to pay up our dues again.
