We had an afternoon, so we stopped at Longmire and climbed the 3,000 vf (3.6 miles) to the pass just below Eagle Peak in about 1 hr 45 min. A light dusting of snow on the top, nice views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood, Castle, and Pinnacle Peak. Mt. R. looked sad for lack of snow all the way to the top! A light dusting above 6,000. Oh well, maybe this week will bring some real snow. abc
