November 16, Stevens Pass

Hoping that a predicted several inches of snow would follow Wednesday's deluge, a buddy with a serious outdoor jones and I proceeded to the pass.  Alas, just a trace of new lay on the 1"- 2" rain crust.  We followed the cat track up Tye to the pass, and had a nice lunch in the sun with good views to the ESE.  I found a few patches of drift filling some hollows near the top of Aquarius run on the Mill valley side that were good for a few short runs, every thing else was ****.  When I broke through the crust it was into low density snow to the ground.  The trip down was survival skiing, with no redeeming quality.  I think my yard needs mowing this weekend.
