My skiing plans for Saturday fell through, so I drove up to Paradise for a few runs by myself - after dealing with a spouting washing machine and then a windshield wiper that died en route.  I turned off the water line to the washer, mopped the floor, traded cars, and finally was off.
Paradise's weather upon my late-morning arrival was snowing with light winds, and restricted visibility.  As I climbed by Glacier Vista, the visibility went down and the wind speeds went up.  I detoured to Edith Creek Basin.  (I later talked to a couple of skiers who confirmed the conditions above Pebble Creek were very windy with poor visibility.)
Two to three inches of new snow were untracked in Edith Creek Basin.  The new powder seemed to have a good bond to the underlying crust, and showed no tendency to slide.
By the second run, the visibility improved, and the sun even made a short appearance.  The rocks were easily avoided, and the skiing surprisingly good for early November.
This link has one photo and a topo with the route from my GPS track:

Thanks for the timely report! From the photo, the snow does look like it was good, and hopefully will be the same tomorrow when I head to the area.

Thanks, Dick.
Good info.
