Found two Canadians and a crazy French guy in the parking lot to partner up with. Skinned up to artists point, which was pretty quick because skin tracks were already laid down. Once we got there, however, we met up with the two guys who laid the track, and figured it was our turn to break track. The snow was so wet and heavy, very difficult to skin in. we got up by table, and figured the avy danger was pretty considerable, given how heavy and wet the latest 14 inches of snow have been. Cruised down through the trees on the backside of artists point. Skinning out was quite the learning experience. Took over an hour to go about 800 vf, with six people switching off breaking trail to make it back up to artists point. Unfortunately, after all that hard work getting that track in there, we had to split. The snow was extremely heavy today; heaviest I have seen it in a couple years. Caused some skin problems for several people too, but the old duct tape pulled through.

The weather was typical baker, “misting” all day, with poor visibility and flat light. When we set out it was about 27 degrees, and by the time we started to head back, it had warmed up to 32 degrees, the warming trend started to cause the snow to become much less stable, we noticed when skinning out.

until next weekend... ;D
